Future still uncertain for long-awaited CCTV system in Kidderminster

The future of a long-awaited CCTV system set to be installed in a Kidderminster street that has been plagued by crime and anti-social behaviour is still uncertain, as the contractors involved with the project delayed the project’s outcome, a brand-new media report on this topic has recently revealed.

Shop owners in the area have been asking for the surveillance system to be put up in this area for over 10 years, and they now fear that the setback could mean the cameras would not be installed until next year.

They set up a petition to have CCTV installed after being intimidated by drunken yobs hanging around the street at night and following a number of street robberies, which were probed by police.

Wyre Forest councillor Fran Oborski, who has been organising the CCTV project, tried to play down the traders’ fears and explained that the scheme would be going ahead, adding: “The delay is because of agency contractors.

“All the project management and contractors are all in place so the scheme is about to proceed. It will be a couple of months before it is installed. The project should be starting in the next six weeks or so. I will be contacting the traders who are affected.”

CCTV Surveillance has an extensive level of experience in providing customers with complete and comprehensive CCTV solutions, that adhere to the highest security standards. In fact, all of our surveillance products are fully compliant with the UK Police Requirements.

One of the main features of our CCTV systems is that they are integrated to work with a standard PC monitor via sophisticated CCTV software that allows individual users to set their own criteria for viewing selected footage from particular CCTV cameras within the network. Password and security features limit the viewing of certain cameras to specific groups of people, enabling you to securely manage who is able to see particular areas of activity.

The CCTV software enables “live” footage to be viewed remotely from any or all connected CCTV cameras as events happen and without degradation of video quality, allowing you to monitor your premises when offsite.
