Private hire cab and taxi drivers are strongly objecting to mandatory CCTV equipment being placed in their cars. The cameras would cost about £500 each. Sheffield City Council said cameras in taxis and similar vehicles would help reduce abuse and violent attacks. The council said 128 taxis currently have CCTV installed out of 2,224 total in the city. Chairman of the Sheffield Taxi Trade Association, Hafeas Rehman, agreed cameras can help drivers, but stated they “shouldn’t be mandatory”.
Your company can help reduce assaults and other crimes happening to staff in and around your site by installing CCTV Surveillance Ltd equipment. Dome cameras are popular because they can be installed discreetly on a wall or ceiling corner with all the cables hidden within the casing. Dome Cameras come with built in lenses, usually one of two types. A fixed focal length lens where the view cannot be changed, or an adjustable vari-focal lens for cameras that need to change focal distance from time to time.
