Police have released CCTV images of two people they want to track down in connection with a murder inquiry. Three people died in a fire which was started deliberately and officers said the duo are “potential key witnesses” and could possess “vital” information to help the investigation. Officers said they are not suspects in the case. Thomas Sharkey (21) died in the fire in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, and two other members of his family later died from their injuries.
Digital CCTV Dome Cameras from CCTV Surveillance are sound choices for monitoring your premises. These cameras are most popular because they can be installed discreetly on a wall or ceiling corner with all the cables hidden within the casing. Unlike body cameras, Dome Cameras come with built in lenses, usually one of two types. There is a fixed focal length lens where the view cannot be changed; or an adjustable vari-focal lens for cameras that need to change focal distance from time to time.
The company responsible for the UK’s rail infrastructure says the situation with metal thefts is getting worse. Using just one example, Network Rail said a single copper cable theft from a railway line resulted in a staggering 108 trains delayed, 17 hours worth of hold-ups for passengers and probably a meagre haul of just £50 for the thieves. On average there are currently six thefts a day across the country.
Thieves broke into a depot and literally lifted equipment by using a big crane. Two outbuildings were taken from the council-owned yard in Stirlingshire. Constable Mark Harvey pointed out that although it took place in a quiet area, the theft needed a large ‘Hiab’ style vehicle to lift the items, and added: “We feel certain that people would have seen them being removed.” Anyone who can assist with information is asked to contact Central Scotland Police on 01786 456000.
Caught on camera was a pair of criminals accomplishing a theft from a midlands bank. The men were monitored manipulating a cash machine to steal money from bank customers by CCTV footage. The incident happened from 6.15pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday, August 31, in Desborough. The suspects were seen by a camera returning to the machine with some kind of instrument. Criminals target cash machines for ‘cloning’ or duplicating customers’ bank details.
A boy aged 16 who looted an electronics shop during the recent riots has been freed while others were locked up. The teenager was spared a spell behind bars after a defence solicitor said it would not benefit the victim or the public. The teen was spotted by Manchester police trying to smash into a display cabinet and managed to run away from one officer but was knocked to the floor by another and struck twice with a baton.
A hooded suspect who was thought to have been carrying a gun was captured on CCTV robbing a jeweller’s shop in Skegness. He demanded a bag be filled with gold chains, and left with jewellery of "significant value", said police. The man is described as wearing a grey hooded top and sunglasses and carried a large black holdall.
Det Insp Cliff Haines commented on an incident during the London rioting which was caught on CCTV. After two officers were hit by a car he said: "Judging from the footage and the speed at which this car is being driven I can only assume that the intention was to cause serious harm and injury.” He added: "It is only sheer luck the officers did not sustain more serious injuries." A man later gave himself up and was arrested.
