Members of the South Holland District Council are seriously considering a proposal to form a partnership with Boston Borough Council regarding the operation and control of the CCTV camera network in Spalding, a news report in the local media has revealed.

According to this proposal, control of the surveillance network should be passed onto a state-of-the-art facility at Boston Borough Council, that would enable a 24h hour manning service.

CCTV cameras in Spalding are currently operated by a group of dedicated volunteers from a control room at the police station, but due to its specific nature, this has not been a 24/7 service.

Running the new cameras costs £1,135 each – £19,000 for a 24/7 service or £14,000 for 18 hours.

One of the main features of our CCTV systems is that they are integrated to work with a standard PC monitor via sophisticated CCTV software that allows individual users to set their own criteria for viewing selected footage from particular CCTV cameras within the network. Password and security features limit the viewing of certain cameras to specific groups of people, enabling you to securely manage who is able to see particular areas of activity.

The CCTV software enables “live” footage to be viewed remotely from any or all connected CCTV cameras as events happen and without degradation of video quality, allowing you to monitor your premises when offsite.
