    Compression & Streaming

TruVision cameras utilize H.264 compression technology with triple-streaming capability, making it easy to manage the camera’s bandwidth usage. These cameras were designed to adhere to PSIA and ONVIF S open communication standards, and support a CGI command set for simple integration into any IP system. Video streams can be set for high and low bandwidth and images can be streamed for live viewing or sent to a designated recording location.

    Additional Features

TruVision IP Megapixel cameras simplify remote, live monitoring/playback of edge-recorded video. Recording on the micro SD/SDXC memory card provides a level of redundancy in case of unforeseen network disruptions. These cameras also feature alarm inputs and outputs. Privacy masking conceals sensitive scenes and safeguards confidential areas from being observed during live view and recorded on the video file.

Included, is a suite of intelligence features that provides enhanced alarm capabilities that go above and beyond standard motion detection. Examples include: Cross Line Detection, Intrusion Detection, De-focus Detection and Face Detection and more. Each of these features are user configurable to best suit the installation environment. Additional advanced non-alarm enhancements include the Region of Interest function that ensures specific portions of an image are given priority in terms of video imaging during instances of high network traffic or network degradation.

  4. CCTV cameras in Calderdale undergo major upgrade process

Comments Off on CCTV cameras in Calderdale undergo major upgrade process

The CCTV monitoring system in Calderdale has undergone a major upgrade process, the council’s 64 cameras and monitoring screens being replaced with modern, high definition equipment, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The upgrade came after the council’s Cabinet approved funding as the previous system was installed in the mid-1990s and was outdated. Updates in technology since then mean that the new equipment costs less to run and uses less energy.

The new equipment is capable of providing higher quality pictures, improved night vision, better recording and the ability to zoom into fine detail.

Councillor Steve Sweeney, Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, said:“I’m extremely pleased with the upgraded equipment. This is an important investment as CCTV plays a vital role in keeping people safe.

“Community safety is a joint effort between the Council and other organisations. We can now achieve this more effectively, reduce the ongoing cost to local taxpayers and be more environmentally friendly.

“In Calderdale we’re bucking the trend by keeping our public space cameras switched on every hour of every day. The cameras are always monitored by people, meaning we don’t just rely on recordings – so the Council and other agencies can respond immediately to anything of concern.”

“Over the years that CCTV has been in place, the council has gained respect from local residents and businesses for providing a reliable and robust CCTV service,” a report seen by councillors said.

“The point has now been reached where an increased budget is required, to meet the costs of replacing old equipment and the increased servicing and maintenance costs.”

  6. CCTV system bolsters security in Gloucester city centre

Comments Off on CCTV system bolsters security in Gloucester city centre

The new CCTV system deployed in Gloucester City centre has already managed to improve security in the area by leading to several successful prosecutions of people carrying out criminal acts in the area, a recent news report has found.

Working in partnership with BT, the local authority deployed the new CCTV cameras in September 2015, as part of an upgrade project with the installation of free Wi-Fi and improved 4G connectivity in the city centre.

The upgrades saw 50 new high-definition CCTV cameras installed in the heart of the city centre and Gloucester Park, along with a new camera control room.

One of the major benefits of the new camera system is the improvement to image quality, as well as 360 degree movement capabilities, which allows camera operators to follow suspects as they move through the streets.

PC Mark Mansfield, licensing officer for the city, said; “It’s stunning. This CCTV is crystal clear, not like the pixelated images of old.

“The only way I can described it is that night time is now like daytime thanks to these facilities. They’re already helping us identify people linked to incidents and I’m sure will help us get results we wouldn’t have otherwise got in the future.”

  7. Police asks for deployment of CCTV system at Glasgow Necropolis

Comments Off on Police asks for deployment of CCTV system at Glasgow Necropolis

A senior police figure with Police Scotland has called for the deployment of CCTV cameras at the Glasgow Necropolist, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The Glasgow Necropolis is a historic cemetery and tourist attraction, the 37-acre Victorian cemetery, east of the city centre, containing about 3,500 monuments and sculptures. As such, it is in serious danger of being affected by antisocial behaviour.

Glasgow City Council said the implementation of cameras had been explored but the topography of the site made it difficult.

A spokesman for Glasgow City Council said: “Community Safety Glasgow currently deploy two daily security patrols, staggered day and night, to the Necropolis and random mobile CCTV patrols are also conducted in the area to deter and detect antisocial behaviour. Foot patrols are also carried out within the Necropolis to deter dog fouling.

“There are also quarterly meetings between Police Scotland, the council, Community Safety Glasgow and the Friends of the Necropolis group to discuss any issues.

“The possibility of using re-deployable CCTV in the Necropolis was also explored, but the topography of the site made it difficult in terms of radio signalling.”

CCTV Surveillance offers a wide range of digital cameras available in various types and sizes (from Digital CCTV Bullet Cameras to Infra-red CCTV Cameras), but also quite an extensive range of DVRs. It’s important to point out that all of the DVRs supplied by CCTV Surveillance support long-term, continuous high quality digital CCTV recording, being able to securely store footage for several CCTV cameras found on the network.

Additionally, the company’s CCTV systems are designed to fully integrate with computer systems running CCTV Surveillance’s dedicated CCTV software, which makes it easier to integrate and control a large number of cameras from a single location.

Authorities in Gujarat, India, have revealed plans to deploy an extensive CCTV network at their ports in order to improve security and provide uninterrupted surveillance along the state’s coast, a recent news report has been able to reveal.

A central control centre shall receive real-time updates from widely spread network of alarms and CCTV cameras in ports and adjoining coastal areas.

To keep an eye on the vast sea, the state is also going to install sea-facing thermal cameras and night vision gadgets for closely monitoring all movements occurring in the ports at night also.

The strategic move to reinforce security of ports has come from Gujarat at the most opportune time given the fact that some suspicious boats possibly belonging to terrorist outfits were seen near the coast, early this year.

Other ports such as Bhavnagar, Veraval, Jafrabad, Mandvi and Old Mundra are also expected to get similar CCTV cover integrated with the Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) in the future. Another feature to be added to the VTMS according to the GMB official is alarms connected to video analytics.

  10. Bristol Zoo uses infrared bullet and dome cameras to study animals

Comments Off on Bristol Zoo uses infrared bullet and dome cameras to study animals

An UK zoo has deployed a system featuring infrared bullet and dome cameras to observe a range of mammals, birds and reptiles as part of a BBC documentary, a recent news report has been able to reveal.

Bristol Zoo has teamed up with Icon Films, who wanted to record animals in total darkness to study their nocturnal behaviour and required high-quality night-time footage from equipment that would not disturb the creatures.

The animals in the study included seals, lions, gorillas, monkeys and zebras. Naturalists were investigating to see whether animals dream, how marine mammals manage to sleep while in the water and why flamingos sleep with one eye open.

An HD IP CCTV system consisting of bullet cameras, domes and Network Video Recorders (NVRs) was set up to monitor the animals over a 2-month period.
